Shimano Direct Mount:
Standard Schaltwerke von Shimano sind mit der sogenannten B2 Body Plate (kleiner beweglicher Befestigungsarm) mit dem Rahmen/Ausfallende verbunden. Direct Mount Schaltwerke haben diese Aufnahme nicht mehr und werden direkt mit dem dafür vorgesehen Rahmen/Ausfallende verbunden. Aktuelle 10-/11-fach Schaltwerke von Shimano lassen sich problemlos durch entfernen dieser B2 Body Plate in ein Direct Mount Schaltwerk umrüsten und montieren.
